I Didn’t Write This Book Because I Had Time On My Hands

I’m Kelly Hansen, a Network Infrastructure & Security Consultant and Technology Strategist. My work lives in the unglamorous middle of IT — the networks, the security postures, the systems businesses depend on every day without thinking about, until the day they stop working.

What I noticed, again and again, is that the businesses that got hurt weren’t usually careless. They were busy. They trusted that “working” meant “fine.” Nobody had ever sat them down and asked the right questions before a regulator, an insurer, or an attacker did.

That’s the gap The IT Dilemma is built to close — a plain-English way for business leaders to see their own blind spots, without needing to become technical experts themselves.

I write under The IT Dilemma because that idea runs through everything I publish. This site, the newsletter, and the book are all the same project: making that gap visible before it becomes expensive.
